Il Ministero emette il 15 marzo 2019 un francobollo ordinario appartenente alla serie tematica “LO SPORT” dedicato alla Reale Società Ginnastica Torino, nel 175° anniversario della fondazione, relativo al valore della tariffa B50 g corrispondente ad €2.60.
La Reale Società Ginnastica di Torino è una società polisportiva italiana, tra le più antiche del Paese. Nacque nel 1844 su iniziativa dei Savoia. La sua sede attuale è nel capoluogo piemontese in via Magenta, 11.
Fondazione
È stata fondata il 17 marzo 1844 a Torino, allora capitale del Regno di Sardegna, dallo svizzero Rodolfo Obermann (1812-1869), un ginnasta di Zurigo molto famoso all’epoca, chiamato in Italia appositamente da Carlo Alberto di Savoia allo scopo di insegnare la ginnastica agli allievi dell’Accademia Militare, e di costituire la prima società ginnica italiana, per“divulgare la pratica degli esercizi di ginnastica per temprare i giovani alle fatiche”. Questa società sarà per oltre vent’anni l’unica società ginnica ad operare in Italia. La società acquisirà il titolo di “Reale” nel 1933, per volere di Vittorio Emanuele III.
Le sezioni
Calcio
La squadra nacque come sezione dedicata al “giuoco del calcio” nel 1897, cosa che l’anno seguente le permise di partecipare al primo Campionato di calcio. Partecipò ai primi campionati di calcio italiani, con scarsi risultati, fino al 1902, anno in cui si ritirò.
Ginnastica artistica
Già dalla fondazione, la Ginnastica Torino operò per diffondere la ginnastica tra i giovani; tra i meriti che le si ascrivono, attraverso l’importante opera di due ministri, soci della società, c’è quello di essersi fatta promotrice della proposta al Parlamento di una legge per rendere obbligatoria la pratica ginnica nelle scuole. L’iter fu alquanto travagliato, e occorsero venti anni: dalla proposta, avanzata al Parlamento nel 1858 dall’allora ministro della Pubblica Istruzione Giovanni Lanza, si giunse all’approvazione solo nel luglio 1878, grazie all’impegno del ministro De Sanctis. Nella stagione 1988/1989 la Ginnastica Torino diventa campione nazionale e interregionale di Serie C, ed è promossa in serie B; Servente, Rubinetti e Simonato vengono convocate nella nazionale giovanile. La società vince poi la serie B, è promossa in A e vince il campionato di serie A nella stagione 1990/1991. Gli allenatori e tecnici della società hanno contribuito allo sviluppo di un nuovo tipo di salto al volteggio: presentato ai campionati del mondo di Birmingham (1993) dalla ginnasta Veronica Servente, è stato inserito nel “codice internazionale” prendendo il nome di «salto Servente». Nella stagione 2003/2004 la squadra femminile si classifica al 3º posto del campionato nazionale Serie B ed è promossa in serie A2; Laura Leonardi, campionessa regionale juniores, è convocata nella nazionale italiana junores. Il 4 maggio 2014 conquista la promozione in serie A2, grazie al secondo posto in classifica.
Judo
Ha contribuito, a partire dagli anni cinquanta, alla diffusione del Judo, ottenuta grazie al lavoro del maestro Zucchi, cintura nera 4º dan, poi insignito del titolo “Maestro benemerito”, e della “Stella d’argento” al merito sportivo dal CONI.
Pallacanestro
Nel 1919 nasce la squadra di “palla al cesto”, ovvero pallacanestro. Nel 1930 arrivò alle semifinali per lo scudetto ma venne eliminata dalla Reyer Venezia. Il risultato migliore è del 1974/75 quando arrivò a giocarsi lo “spareggio” per accedere al campionato di Serie A. Nel 2004 la squadra Under 14 Femminile ha vinto il titolo nazionale 3 contro 3. Fino al 2006-07 la squadra maggiore giocava nel campionato nazionale di Serie C1 e la prima squadra femminile nel campionato di Serie B.
Rugby
Sin dagli albori del rugby italiano, alla fine degli anni venti, si creò la sezione rugby. Il risultato più importante fu il successo nel campionato italiano 1946-47. Nel 1949 la società abbandonò il campionato per aderire a una federazione italiana di rugby a 13 che si stava creando, ma i risultati furono fallimentari e la sezione rugby sparì di lì a pochi anni.
FLIC Scuola di Circo
Ultima nata nel 2002, la FLIC Scuola di Circo è un importante centro di formazione professionale per artisti provenienti da tutto il mondo. La FLIC è membro della FEDEC (Fédération Européenne Des Écoles du Cirque professionnelles) e l’obiettivo della Scuola è formare gli allievi nelle discipline artistiche proprie del circo contemporaneo. La formazione professionale e amatoriale è affiancata da rassegne, eventi e performance oltre a spettacoli di nouveau cirque, gestione di laboratori temporanei per enti pubblici e privati, attività di volontariato e circo sociale.

POSTE ITALIANE 9 ^ issue year 2019 “stamp dedicated to the Royal Gymnastic Society of Turin on the 175th anniversary of the foundation”
On March 15, 2019, the Ministry issued an ordinary stamp belonging to the thematic series “LO SPORT” dedicated to the Royal Gymnastic Society of Turin, on the 175th anniversary of the foundation, relating to the value of the tariff B50 g corresponding to € 2.60.
The Royal Gymnastic Society of Turin is an Italian sports club, one of the oldest in the country. He was born in 1844 on the initiative of the Savoys. Its current headquarters is in the Piedmontese capital in via Magenta, 11.
Foundation
It was founded on March 17, 1844 in Turin, then capital of the Kingdom of Sardinia, by the Swiss Rodolfo Obermann (1812-1869), a Zurich gymnast very famous at the time, named in Italy specifically by Carlo Alberto of Savoy in order to teach gymnastics to the students of the Military Academy, and to constitute the first Italian gymnastic society, to “divulge the practice of gymnastic exercises to harden the youths to the labors”. This company will be the only gymnastic company to operate in Italy for over twenty years. The company will acquire the title of “Reale” in 1933, at the behest of Vittorio Emanuele III.
The sections
Football
The team was born as a section dedicated to the “game of football” in 1897, something that the following year allowed her to participate in the first football championship. He participated in the first Italian soccer championships, with poor results, until 1902, the year in which he retired.
Artistic gymnastics
Since its foundation, the Turin Gymnastics operated to spread gymnastics among the young; among the merits that are ascribed to it, through the important work of two ministers, members of the society, there is that of having promoted the proposal to the Parliament of a law to make the gymnastic practice obligatory in the schools. The process was somewhat troubled, and it took twenty years: from the proposal made to Parliament in 1858 by the then Minister of Education Giovanni Lanza, approval was reached only in July 1878, thanks to the efforts of Minister De Sanctis. In the 1988/89 season the Turin Gymnastics became the national and inter-regional champion of Serie C, and was promoted to Serie B; Servente, Rubinetti and Simonato are summoned to the national youth team. The company then won the B series, was promoted to A and won the Serie A championship in the 1990/1991 season. The coaches and technicians of the company contributed to the development of a new type of vault jump: presented at the world championships in Birmingham (1993) by Veronica Servente gymnast, it was included in the “international code” taking the name of “blowing Servente” . In the 2003/2004 season the women’s team ranks 3rd in the national Serie B championship and is promoted to A2; Laura Leonardi, regional junior champion, is convened in the Italian national junores. On 4 May 2014 he won the promotion in Serie A2, thanks to the second place in the standings.
Judo
He contributed, starting from the fifties, to the spread of the Judo, obtained thanks to the work of the master Zucchi, 4th dan black belt, later awarded with the title “Meritorious Master”, and of the “Silver Star” to the CONI sports merit.
Basketball
In 1919 the “ball on the basket” team, or basketball, was born. In 1930 he reached the semi-finals for the championship but was eliminated by Reyer Venezia. The best result is in 1974/75 when the “playoff” came to play to enter the Serie A championship. In 2004 the Women’s Under 14 team won the 3-on-3 national title. Until 2006-07 the major team played in the Serie C1 national championship and the first women’s team in the Serie B championship.
Rugby
From the beginning of Italian rugby, at the end of the 1920s, the rugby section was created. The most important result was the success in the Italian championship 1946-47. In 1949 the company abandoned the championship to join an Italian rugby federation that was being created, but the results were unsuccessful and the rugby section disappeared within a few years.
FLIC Circus School
Last born in 2002, the FLIC Circus School is an important professional training center for artists from all over the world. FLIC is a member of FEDEC (Fédération Européenne Des Écoles du Cirque professionnelles) and the aim of the School is to train students in the artistic disciplines of contemporary circus. Professional and amateur training is accompanied by exhibitions, events and performances as well as nouveau cirque shows, management of temporary laboratories for public and private bodies, voluntary work and social circus.
