PADOVA CAPITALE EUROPEA DELLA SOLIDARIETA’ 2020
Il concorso per la Capitale europea del volontariato, indetto nel 2013 dal Cev – Centro europeo del volontariato, mira a promuovere il volontariato a livello locale, dando un riconoscimento alle città che supportano e rafforzano le partnership con i centri di volontariato e con le organizzazioni che coinvolgono i volontari e promuovono il volontariato e il suo impatto sul territorio.
Mercoledì 5 dicembre 2018, nella città di Aahrus in Danimarca, il Cev – Centro europeo del volontariato ha proclamato ufficialmente Padova capitale europea del volontariato per il 2020.
Il Csv – Centro servizio volontariato provinciale di Padova e il Comune di Padova, coinvolgendo le Associazioni del territorio, sono promotori di una serie di iniziative che si sviluppano nel triennio 2019/2021.
Le associazioni che hanno e che organizzeranno eventi devono essere coerenti con le linee di indirizzo di Padova capitale ed hanno avuto il patrocinio del Comune di Padova e al Csv e il logo di “Padova Capitale europea del volontariato 2020”.
Le iniziative devono essere realizzare senza scopo di lucro ed essere attinenti con una o più delle aree tematiche di approfondimento scelte dal comitato organizzatore di Padova: povertà e nuove emarginazioni; salute e benessere; cultura e istruzione; tecnologia e innovazione; ambiente e urbanistica; economia e sviluppo sostenibile; pace e diritti umani.
«Il volontariato non ama il clamore, non gradisce la riconoscenza, preferisce l’operoso silenzio, ma quando abbiamo condiviso con il Sindaco di Padova, la possibilità di candidare la nostra città a Capitale Europea del Volontariato eravamo convinti che ciò ci avrebbe permesso di far emergere la grande funzione educativa e culturale che rappresenta oggi il volontariato italiano», è con queste parole che ha preso avvio il saluto al Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella da parte di Emanuele Alecci, Responsabile del Comitato Padova Capitale Europea del Volontariato e Presidente CSV Padova.

PADOVA EUROPEAN CAPITAL OF SOLIDARITY
The competition for the European Capital of Volunteering, launched in 2013 by the Cev – European Volunteer Center, aims to promote volunteering at the local level, giving recognition to cities that support and strengthen partnerships with volunteering centers and organizations that they involve volunteers and promote volunteering and its impact on the territory.
On Wednesday 5 December 2018, in the city of Aahrus in Denmark, the Cev – European Volunteer Center officially proclaimed Padova the European Capital of Volunteering for 2020.
The CSV – Provincial Voluntary Service Center of Padova and the Municipality of Padova, involving the local associations, are the promoters of a series of initiatives that are developed in the three-year period 2019/2021.
The associations that have and will organize events must be consistent with the guidelines of Padova capital and have had the patronage of the Municipality of Padova and the CSV and the logo of “Padova European Capital of Volunteering 2020”.
The initiatives must be non-profit and be relevant to one or more of the thematic areas chosen by the organizing committee of Padova: poverty and new marginalization; health and wellness; culture and education; technology and innovation; environment and urban planning; economy and sustainable development; peace and human rights.
“Volunteering does not like clamor, does not like gratitude, prefers industrious silence, but when we shared with the Mayor of Padova, the possibility of nominating our city as the European Volunteer Capital we were convinced that this would allow us to emerge the great educational and cultural function that Italian volunteering represents today ”, it is with these words that Emanuele Alecci, Head of the Padova European Capital of Volunteering Committee and President of CSV Padova, began the greeting to the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella.
