Il Ministero dello Sviluppo e le Poste Italiane hanno emesso il 3 luglio 2019 un francobollo ordinario appartenente alla serie tematica “LO SPORT” dedicato all’Universiade Estiva, in occasione della XXX edizione, relativo al valore della tariffa B Zona 2 50 g, corrispondente ad € 3,90 .

La XXX Universiade si svolgerà dal 3 al 14 luglio 2019 a Napoli e altre località della Campania, in Italia. Napoli è stata scelta come città ospitante il 5 febbraio 2016 a seguito della rinuncia di Brasilia.
L’Universiade, o Olimpiade Universitaria, è una manifestazione sportiva multidisciplinare corrispondente ai Giochi olimpici (sia invernali sia estivi). Il suo svolgimento è biennale e vi partecipano gli atleti universitari, provenienti da ogni parte del mondo. Seconda solo ai Giochi Olimpici per importanza e numero di partecipanti. Il nome “Universiade”, frutto della combinazione tra le parole “università” e “Olimpiade”, racchiude in sé uno dei concetti alla base di ogni forma di sport: l’universalità.
L’Universiade è organizzata dalla Federazione Internazionale Sport Universitari (FISU).
Assegnazione
L’11 dicembre 2012 il ministro per lo sport e la gioventù dell’Azerbaigian, Azad Rəhimov, ha annunciato l’intenzione di volere candidare Baku per l’Universiade 2019: la capitale azera pochi giorni prima era stata scelta per ospitare la prima edizione dei Giochi europei.
Il 14 giugno 2012 il ministro dello sport del Brasile, Aldo Rebelo, e il presidente della Confederação Brasileira do Desporto Universitário, Luciano Cabral, hanno annunciatoche, dopo l’esclusione di Brasilia per la XXIX Universiade, assegnata a Taipei, candideranno nuovamente la capitale brasiliana per l’edizione 2019. Il 31 gennaio 2013 Miklós Tóth, vicepresidente del comitato olimpico ungherese, ha dichiarato che l’Ungheria ha intenzione di ospitare l’edizione 2019 o 2021 dell’Universiade: il 19 febbraio dello stesso anno Budapest è stata ufficialmente candidata.
Il 3 aprile 2013 la FISU ha reso ufficiali le tre città candidate:
Il 31 ottobre 2013 Baku ha rinunciato alla candidatura poiché nel periodo compreso tra il 2015 e il 2017 avrebbe dovuto ospitare numerosi eventi sportivi; analogamente, l’8 ottobre 2013 è arrivata la rinuncia di Budapest a causa degli elevati costi della manifestazione. Il 9 novembre 2013 la FISU ha assegnato la XXX Universiade a Brasilia. Per problemi finanziari il 23 novembre 2014 la capitale brasiliana ha rinunciato all’organizzazione dell’evento, costringendo la federazione universitaria alla scelta di una nuova sede. Nel gennaio 2016 l’unica città che si è candidata ad ospitare la XXX Universiade è stata Napoli: nel mese di febbraio gli ispettori della FISU hanno visitato la città partenopea per tre giorni al fine di visionare la qualità degli impianti sportivi, l’efficienza delle infrastrutture e della rete di trasporto pubblico e i vari progetti proposti. Il 5 marzo 2016 la FISU, riunitasi a Bruxelles, ha assegnato ufficialmente l’organizzazione dell’evento a Napoli.

The XXX Universiade will take place from 3 to 14 July 2019 in Naples and other locations in Campania, Italy.
Naples was chosen as the host city on February 5, 2016 following the resignation of Brasilia.
The Universiade, or University Olympiad, is a multidisciplinary sporting event corresponding to the Olympic Games (both winter and summer). It takes place every two years and university athletes from all over the world participate. Second only to the Olympic Games in terms of importance and number of participants. The name “Universiade”, the result of the combination of the words “university” and “Olympiad”, embodies one of the concepts at the basis of every form of sport: universality.
The Universiade is organized by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).
Assignment
On 11 December 2012 Azerbaijan’s Minister for Sport and Youth, Azad Rəhimov, announced his intention to nominate Baku for the 2019 Universiade: the Azerbaijani capital a few days earlier had been chosen to host the first edition of European Games.
On June 14, 2012, Brazil’s sports minister, Aldo Rebelo, and the president of Confederação Brasileira do Desporto Universitário, Luciano Cabral, announced that, after the exclusion of Brasilia for the XXIX Universiade, assigned to Taipei, they will once again nominate the capital Brazilian for the 2019 edition.

On 31 October 2013 Baku renounced the candidacy because in the period between 2015 and 2017 he would have had to host numerous sporting events; similarly, on October 8, 2013, the Budapest renouncement came due to the high costs of the event. On November 9, 2013, the FISU awarded the XXX Universiade in Brasilia.
For financial problems on November 23, 2014, the Brazilian capital gave up organizing the event, forcing the university federation to choose a new location. In January 2016 the only city that was a candidate to host the XXX Universiade was Naples: in February the FISU inspectors visited the city of Naples for three days in order to view the quality of the sports facilities, the efficiency of the infrastructure and public transport network and the various projects proposed. On March 5, 2016, the FISU, meeting in Brussels, officially assigned the organization of the event to Naples.
